How Much Should I Pay?

Although the e-visa fee varies by country, some countries do not charge fees from their partner countries. For example; Turkey does not charge Mexico and Qatar citizens (2018). Citizens of these countries can get a free visa online.

Schengen Visa

Types of Schengen Visa

There are categories of Schengen visa which depends on the reason for travel and the length of stay.

The Airport Transit Schengen Visa – TYPE A

The type A visa is the airport transit visa.  It makes the holder eligible to stop over within the Schengen area but does not authorize the holder the leave the international customer area of the airport.

The Short Stay Schengen Visa – Type C

The short-stay visa (type C). Is mostly useful for tourists visiting Europe, it allows the holder to stay in one or several countries within the Schengen Area for a maximum of 90 days.

Uniform Schengen Visa (USV) – Type C

Schengen visa type C allows travelers to reside in any Schengen state for a fixed period as per the visa validity. There are three types of this visa.

SINGLE ENTRY VISA: Only one entry is any one of the countries in the Schengen area.

DOUBLE ENTRY VISA: This visa enables a traveler to enter the Schengen region twice. They cannot re-enter the region after the second exit.

MULTIPLE ENTRY VISA: With this visa, travelers can enter this area multiple times without any restrictions

VALIDITY: The single entry visa is valid for 90 days, while the double entry visa allows individuals to move across the country for 180 days maximum. In addition, individuals can choose a multiple-entry visa for one year, three years, or five years.

Uniform Schengen Visas (USV) – Type D

ELIGIBILITY: The Schengen visa type D or National Visa is only granted to individuals to come to Schengen to study, work, or permanently reside here. Candidates must meet the following criteria to get this visa.

√ Applicants must possess an international student program or are about to start an educational course in one of the Schengen countries.

√ Those starting a higher institution or research center in any Schengen country are also eligible.

√ Those traveling to Schengen for their expertise in sportsman, an artist, or any other professional are eligible.

√ Those unable to leave the Schengen region for medical emergencies can apply for this visa.

APPLICATION FEES: Adult applicants must pay €80 for application fees. On the other hand, children can pay €40.

VALIDITY: these visas are usually valid for 6 months to 5 years. There is no 90 days limitation.

RESTRICTION MAY INCLUDE

– If SCHENGEN STATES is written on the sticker, the visa holder may travel to all countries within the Schengen Area.

– If one or several country names are listed, the visitor may only visit these countries within the Schengen Area. This is called a limited territorial validity visa.

NUMBER OF ENTRIES

– Single entry: the Schengen visa holder may enter the Schengen Area one time only.

– Double entry: the Schengen visa holder may enter and leave the Schengen Area twice.

– Multiple entry: the Schengen visa holder may enter and leave the Schengen Area as many times as they wish.

LENGTH OF STAY

– If specified, it corresponds to the exact dates of your stay in the Schengen Area, as indicated in your application.

– If nothing is specified, the Schengen visa holder may stay a maximum of 90 consecutive days (over 180 days) in the Schengen Area.

SCHENGEN VISA VALIDITY

These dates indicate when the Schengen visa holder may enter and leave the Schengen Area (if they have two or more entries).

This validity period ranges from 6 months to 5 years and is determined by the consular authorities of the first country that you visit in the Schengen Area depending on your situation and previous visas obtained.

If you often travel to Europe for periods shorter than 3 months, you will need a short-stay (type C) visa valid for 5 years.
